Thank you for visiting my shop, RAColorsbyDesign! To let you know a little more about it, I will tell you how it came to be. When I was pregnant with my son, I decided to do a Classic Winnie the Pooh theme for his nursery. Although this was a common theme (that I definitely didn’t come up with myself), there was a specific look I wanted. I wanted whimsical, yet fun & colorful!
I found loads of beautiful classic Winnie the Pooh art but I wanted to make a collection unique for his room. So, I took up watercoloring. I have always drawn so it felt natural to take up painting. Soon, I finished three illustrations for his room and enjoyed it so much I kept going. This is when I decide to start making my own themed collections of nursery art.
Next, I looked for a unique mobile. This to me was much harder. I searched everywhere and couldn’t find one that would match the rest of his decor so, yet again, I decided to make one myself. (Like drawing, sewing and crafting have been things I’ve done of and on, since I was little.) I embroidered the pieces (honey bees, leaves, “Hunny” pots, and a hive) off and on for months. I designed and sewed a top for it and finally put it all together. It matched perfectly to the rest of the décor and my son absolutely loved it!
At only a couple months old, my husband held him up to it and would let him look at the pieces. Then, my husband blew at the light wool honeybees and they swayed back and forth as my newborn son gazed at them and smiled. Then out of nowhere he laughed his first laugh! At that one moment all my hard work had been so worth it and I was a pretty proud Mama Bear!
He is now over a year old and still smiles at his mobile in his nursery and reaches for it. I hope that RAC art and décor will bring many heartwarming smiles to your own little one’s face!
